INTRODUCTION TO FOREIGN
DOMESTIC WORKER (FDW) GRANT

Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) Grant is a $120 monthly cash payment given to families who need to hire a Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) to care for their loved ones who require permanent assistance with three or more Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).


You can use the payment to offset the cost of hiring a FDW. You may nominate yourself, or a caregiver who is 18 years old and above to receive your FDW Grant payment.


Each household is eligible for up to two FDWs caring for two different family members at any one time.

HOW TO QUALIFY

HOW TO APPLY


1. Employ an FDW to care for the care recipient
You must be able to hire an FDW first, with the Ministry of Manpower's approval.

​​2. Send your FDW for an AIC-approved FDW Grant caregiver's training course

3. Submit your Household Means-Test Declaration to MOH Holdings

​​4. Prepare your FDW Grant Application Form and Supporting Documents
i. ​Application Form For Schemes Administered By Agency For Integrated Care
ii. Ask your doctor to fill in the Functional Assessment Report * (The cost of an assessment may vary.)  
iii. Terms and Conditions

5. Please Submit Your FDW Grant Application Documents To AIC

Send the completed application, Functional Assessment Report * and photocopied documents to AIC at:

After your application submission


AIC will inform you of the application outcome in writing. 


If your application is approved, AIC will deposit $120 into the nominated bank account on a monthly basis. Please contact us at 1800-650-6060 if you have not received your payment by the end of the month.

​​​* For Care Recipients with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disability

​Your care recipients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual Disability (ID) can choose to have their level of support needs for ADL determined via the CAF (download the Form here). Care recipients who are currently attending a Special Education School or disability care services such as Day Activity Centres can have the assessment done onsite (please check with your school or service provider if it provides such assessment service). If the school or service provider does not provide CAF assessment or if the care recipients with ID or ASD do not receive disability services from the community, you may approach the Therapy Hubs (click here​​ for the list) for CAF assessment.
