As a caregiver, it is important to take a short break to care for yourself or to run some errands. You can do so with the help of the Centre-based Respite Care service.

The service is provided at participating day care centres where healthcare professionals will care for your loved one for a few hours. Your loved one can be a senior or an adult with physical and/or mild cognitive needs e.g. toileting and mild dementia. With your loved one well cared for, and enjoying the interactions/ activities at a centre, you can attend to your needs with peace of mind.

The services provide include:

The average price of the service is about $53 per day before means-testing. If your loved one qualifies, government subsidy is available.

There are two ways to apply:

1. Apply through a social worker or case manager

2. Apply directly to a participating day care centre

You can approach a preferred day care centre below to apply for the service. You can also speak to the centre if you have any queries or have questions about subsidies.
